Stelazine Castle
This memoir came about after many years of gathering memories, stories and research into the history of our family and country, South Africa.
A middle-class, white Afrikaans unit struggles with mental health issues, homelessness and the government system. When the couple's oldest son is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, their world is in turmoil. The their house burns down and the insurance company refuses to pay out.
Seen through the eyes of the youngest child, a daughter, she becomes fearful of life.
Humor keeps them going through one disaster after the next.
